The invention of William R. Boyd—founder of WRB Associates, Inc.—this system was based on Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) PDP-11 16-Bit Mini-Computers running the RT-11 OS, years before anyone had heard of an IBM PC. I founded MicroCODE in 1987 while still working at WRB with the encouragement of Bill and Joy Boyd.
The 32-bit upgrade for WRB's PDP-11 system owners, this moved the LADDERS software from single-user PDP-11s to multi-user datacenter servers. This also introduced the CIMport PDS product, as well as the LADDERS Batch and Active Compare Report products. This product ran on the VAX/VMS hardware and operating system.
This was the move to 64-Bit servers and workstations, years before Windows NT, decades before Windows would reach 64-Bit operating systems. This was made possible by DEC's Alpha-AXP hardware and OpenVMS OS.
LADDERS as a Service (LaaS) will bring back the LADDERS Compare Reporting system as a Cloud based service accessible from anywhere. First for the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 5000 PLCs and later for other popular brands.
